We are delighted with the variety of information contained within this book. Based on the Montessori Method of learning, which focuses on a children’s natural interests and activities rather than formal teaching methods, it has many helpful ideas to will help guide you in teaching your child to learn independently. This book is divided into age-appropriate sections which I found made it very easy to find the information that I was looking for each child. This book is well-written and an overall great value.

Montessori themed exercises and play to help my grandchild progress. Large book with quality paper and printing. We got the paperback version and it is sturdy.

I liked how much intro to Montessori philosophy there was at the beginning, short paragraphs and easy to read, but they really explained it well. I think that will help people who are new to Montessori realize it’s not “doing Montessori” if you just buy toys labeled Montessori, but don’t understand the philosophy and approach behind them. I thought the font was hard to read, though, and print was too light. There were a lot of activities to get your mind thinking in the Montessori way, but not a lot of explanation … I suppose that’s the Montessori way, too, though, but for the adults, so yay for active thinking for everyone! I thought it was weird that the child is referred to as “it”. I would have preferred the approach of using the plurals of “the children” and “they”. I was also disappointed that all the children pictured in the book are white.

Lots of ideas to keep my 1 year old busy and developing skills without the use of screens!

  5. Paula

Great tips and ideas. Very useful.

This introduced me to montessori and it did a good job! I really like the introduction it gives. The activities are fine and I like the description it gives of each age group.

The activities in this book are incredibly helpful and inexpensive, I appreciate the age breakdown both in the entirety of the book and for each individual activity. The only thing I dislike is there isn’t a list of all materials needed per chapter, they have them listed beside each activity but I wish there was a quick list I could look at for all items for bulk shopping purchases. Overall it is amazing and so helpful and my son loves all the activities within the book
